Next Year, Maybe
Lord willing and Jesus tarry and I don’t suffer a career-ending brain injury, next year will be the year my children start the school year and I don’t. (At least, not as a student.)
Maybe by then I’ll be able to think up a good First Day Of School tradition.
Do you have any? Goody bags? New clothes shopping? Hot cocoa and chocolate chip waffles for breakfast? Special pictures? Mani-pedi? (Hey, that sounds like a really good one.)
What do you do to mark the beginning of the school year, if you or someone you love is still in school?

I always try to buy something new for my room. This year I have an owl theme – my bulletin board is owls and I bought owl name plates, which I used to label the cubbies. I also try to be more organized, which doesn’t always happen.
