Snowstorms
The view outside my front door this morning, around 8am, was such:
Note the light dusting? The perfectly clear roads? The green grass still showing?
Yes, green grass! You see it?
When I checked the news this morning, I discovered that there were three hundred seventy-nine closings, cancellations, and delays this morning. I swear, I am not making this up.

Do you really want people who cancel things at the first sight of snow to actually drive in it? Maybe cancellations are the best way to go. Having lived in Norfolk, every snow fall resulted in numerous accidents and absolutely gridlocked the entire city.
Must be deep South. I grew up in Alabama, and we shut everything down at the mere mention of snow.
I just had to laugh! Sometimes people in ABQ cannot understand why the mountain schools get a delay or cancellation, but the weather can be completely different across the divide. It can look like your lawn there and yet we can have a foot of snow here, at 7500 feet.
But of course, there is really lots of snow where the cancellations occur. Whereas, it looks like where you are, they are very proactive and take matters into consideration even before the snow accumulates…much.
We do that here too. Of course, we haven’t had snow since 2001. We all talk about the “storm” of 1989 when we got about 6 inches. Enjoy your little vacation!
