  • I’m finished prelims.

    I’m finished grading.

I’m finished entering grades into the system.

I’m finished answering student emails with any response other than, “I’m sorry, but only the professor can change your grade at this point; you’ll have to talk to her.”

    I’m finished for the summer.

Well, okay, I’m supposed to be working on my dissertation proposal this summer, so that I can defend it first thing in September.

And I have to write up a Sunday School lesson for the eight-week class on Christian bioethics I’m supposed to be giving in September and October.

    And I’m doing something . . . . something . . . I don’t know, something in . . . was it July?

Well, let’s just humor the slightly deranged woman, shall we?  Let’s let her believe, at least through May, that she has nothing better to do than to garden all morning and knit all afternoon.

  • I’m not sure its “better” than gardening and knitting, but I do believe there is also some churning of coffee ice cream…with chocolate chunks.

  • Let’s see, nothing to do until – is it – July?  Well, you could go up and visit your brother and sister-in-law, and tell them how to improve their excuse of a garden????  Just a thought.

Congrats on getting through another semester.  I have about 2 weeks to go before I can declare – at least temporarily – independence from schoolwork.

  • I think gardening and knitting sound like the perfect activities for heavily pregnant women living in hot places in May and June. Keep a notebook nearby in case you have any brilliant ideas for either the dissertation proposal or the sunday school classes.
