Ah! Finally finished. This pattern is from a Sirdar booklet–12 DK patterns for babies (or some such thing). I stuck a hood from one pattern onto the tunic of another pattern; it’s done in Rowan Wool Cotton on 3.75mm needles, size 3-6 months. I got the wooden fish buttons in Paris–a little yarn boutique that had EVERYTHING for knitters.
Now all I need is a pregnant friend living in a chilly climate to give birth to a boy in about August. (So he’ll be 3-6 months during the winter . . . the last friend I knit a sweater for lived in Virginia, and it didn’t fit him until the summer. Grr.) No one should take this as a hint to start trying, since if you’re not already expecting, you won’t be in August. Maybe next August. But still, don’t have a baby just for the sweater–as beautiful as it is.
