  • Let's Do The Numbers

    Amos:
    2 months.
    24 inches.
    11.3 pounds.
    100% cute.

    Theo:
    4 1/2 years.
    46 inches.
    46 pounds.
    100% . . . enormous.

Like Isaac, Amos has so far been pretty consistently measuring at the 75th percentile in height and 25th percentile in weight.

Theo, on the other hand, is at the 75th percentile for both . . . if you compare him to kids a year and a half older than he is.  If you compare him to other kids his age, he's in the 90th percentile for weight and quite literally off the chart for height.  People stop us in the store and tell me what a cute seven-year-old I have.  They're not entirely wrong.

(We can talk about vocabulary and self-expression some other time.  "Your four-year-old should have a vocabulary of about 1500 words and speak in four- to five-word sentences."  I counted all day yesterday, and he didn't limited himself to a five-word sentence once.)

I would be more comforted by the fact that Amos, like Isaac, is built to a more reasonable size if Isaac had anything like a reasonable appetite.  If Isaac is anything to go by . . . you know, just send cash.  Or a gift card for the grocery store.

Goodness!  I've not stopped by your blog in ages because computer crash = lost bookmarks + homeschooling a high school junior . . . anyway, I saw this post and thought, "Oh how sweet . . . an old picture of Isaac and Theo".  And then I realized, no, not so much -- congratulations!  And now I'll go pour a cup of coffee and catch up.  What a perfect treat for a rainy afternoon.  In NC.  Where you *don't* live anymore, but I used to think that one day we would bump in to each other and I would seize the opportunity to make the appropriate arrangements for Isaac to be my future son-in-law.  Drat.

Great to "see" you here, Christy!  Hope you're doing well.  Thanks for the kind wishes.

I'm sorry you're experiencing one of the twenty non-sunny days NC gets all year.  I think we get twenty sunny days per year where we are now.  :grumpy face:
