I've finished two knitting projects this week, so that seemed like a good reason to blog.
Sunday, I finished these:
Wollmeise Sockenwolle Twin, in the colorway Fratello (doesn't that make you think of Nutella?), more or less adapted from a pattern called "Trilobites" from
this book. I started these in November of last year.
I don't terribly much like the pooling on the leg. But with jeans or a long skirt . . .

. . . no one will really see the legs.
And then today, I finished these:

Opal Rainforest yarn in the
Tiger colorway (which was retired, then brought back after people were buying it on eBay for twice its retail price). I used a standard toe-up construction, so no real pattern--just socks with a little light ribbing. If I remember correctly, I started these in January of last year, and kept them at my library carrel, then at my office, for knitting while reading or grading papers or what have you. So these have been in the works for quite awhile.
I have to say, the yarn is a little scratchier than Wollmeise. I think this means they'll be pretty hard-wearing, since I don't think they're merino. But they're not quite as decadent as my other socks.
Unfortunately, our temporary home has carpeting, and that tends to wear through handknit socks pretty fast. Fortunately, this gives me an excuse to knit myself more socks. So these are mine, mine, mine!!
And, since I've finished two projects, I get to start another!!

I have a pair of Jedi socks.
I need a pair of tiger socks.
Both pairs of socks are lovely, but I especially like the Opal Rainforest pair.
We tried the Dutch Baby this morning. Yum! But I like pancakes more. Unfortunately, they are far more labor-intensive.
