So, I’ve been to the grocery store.

    They don’t have couscous.

But they do have . . . are you ready for it? . . . beef tripe, beef tongue, and beef kidney.

I don’t know how to cook any of those things.  (Although I do love me some veal kidney with cream and mustard sauce, I don’t think beef kidney is quite the same.  It’s ten times the size, for one thing.)

Anybody have any good recipes for tripe, tongue, or kidney?

  • Do you need us to mail you a care package of organically grown couscous?

  • Yuck. Sounds like you need a trip to Mimi’s to stock your pantry and freezer. I’m not sure tongue, tripe and kidneys constitute food. I have heard them referred to as offal (but I seriously believe they are awful)!  PS – call your mother. We don’t have your new phone number.
